Event 10 Recap

$350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

After an hour-long heads-up battle, Brian O'Donoghue (Bayside, NY) finally collected all 15 million chips in play.  His victory today earned him $50,132 and his first Borgata Poker Open trophy.  Kenny 'Super Tuan' Nguyen (Orlando, FL) fought hard to overcome a 2.75:1 chip deficit, but the cards did not fall his way.  Nguyen finshed 2nd for $28,187.

Third place went to Ryan Wince (Columbus, OH) along with $17,747. He scored a double KO at the final table when his pocket Aces held up in a three-way pre-flop all-in against pocket 9s and QJ suited.

The final three players are all poker pros, although Kenny Nguyen also owns a nail salon.  Nguyen was born in Vietnam as Tuan Nguyen, but earned the nickname 'Super Tuan' due to his fascination with the original Superman movie.  When he became a US citizen, he took the first name Kenny, but still carries the 'Super Tuan' nickname.

John 'Bistro' Hinds currently leads in the Borgata Poker Open Leaderboard contest and he made this final table, finishing 8th for $5,742.  This finish will boost his point total even higher.

615 entries amounted to total buy-ins of $215,250.  63 players earned a piece of the prize pool and 48 of those returned for day two today.

Two WSOP bracelet holders made the cut on day one -- and then busted out back-to-back on day two.  Mike 'Little Man' Sica (N Brunswick, NJ) ran A9 into AK, finishing 20th.  Ylon Schwartz (Brooklyn, NY) ran pocket Jacks into pocket Queens, finishing in 19th place.  Both earned $1,148.

"I started off losing a lot, down to 10k early... on the bubble, I had 180k and went up to 1 million by the end of day one"  O'Donoghue said.  He started day two as the chip leader and worked that big stack all the way victory.
