8th Place - $640

Event 11: 9th Place - Clemento

$300 + 40 Limit Hold'em

Jack Clemento (Philadelphia, PA)
9th Place - $480

Event 10: New Shooter

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

We have a new chip leader, and his name is Alex Dadoyan (Secaucus, NJ) with over 1.1 million.  Players will be finishing this level and bagging their chips to come back tomorrow.  Here are some of the other larger stacks left in the field:

Joe Neiman - 540k
Kenny Ngyuen - 570k
Scott "Zeek" Mccurdy - 650k
Ken Silverstein - 440k

Event 11: Final Table

$300 + 40 Limit Hold'em

We have reached the final table in this event, but just to note again, one player will not make the money from this table as only 9 places are being paid:

  1. William Zaliwciw (Philadelphia, PA)
  2. Jason Rivkin (Eatontown, NJ)
  3. Michael Chearney (Virginia Beach, VA)
  4. Robert Ricci (Rahway, NJ)
  5. (Anonymous)
  6. Jack Clemento (Philadelphia, PA)
  7. Kerry Small (Ventnor, NJ)
  8. Al Riccobono (Ossining, NY)
  9. Eric Rivkin (New York, NY)
  10. George Kraft (Absecon, NJ)

Event 10: Bubble Craziness

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Another crazy bubble, as we here someone screaming for their "one time," but he was the player in the lead with A A against J J.  His opponent flopped a set, but the screaming player was left with chips.  As that was happening, Kenny "SuperTuan" Ngyuen opened from under the gun, and it folded around to the big blind.  The big blind three bet all-in, and was immediately called by Kenny.  SuperTuan had K K against the A K of the big blind.  After no help for the big blind, he was eliminated as the money bubble, and everyone from here on out is walking away with money.  Kennoy now has over 550k.

Event 10: Hand For Hand

$350 + 50 Deep Stack Hold'em

With 64 players remaining, we are playing hand for hand until the next elimination.  Level 19 has just started with blinds at 5k/10k/1k.

Event 11: Final Table Bubble

$300 + 40 Limit Hold'em

There are 11 players remaining, and with one more elimination we will reach the final table.  Nine places are paid in this tournament, but when we reach the final table we will bring you the players and seat assignments.

Event 10: Bubble Looms

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

We are getting very close to the money bubble as 67 players remain, and with 63 getting paid we will soon be hand for hand.  The chip average is currently 222,000, and there are a handful of short stacks in the field hoping to reach the money.

Event 10: "Just Don't Be A Heart"

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Ken Silverstein (Edison, NJ)

Ken Silverstein (Edison, NJ) was in the big blind, and the last player who could call an all-in from a player on the hi-jack.  He announced a call, and his opponent tabled A A.  Ken said with a smile that he couldn't beat that as he showed his J J.  His opponent said to him, "The way I'm running today you will, probably a jack right in the window."  Well it wasn't a jack that would hurt him, but before the river the board looked like 3h 7h 8c 5h.  And that's where his opponent said, "Just don't be a heart."  To his dismay the 2h peeled off on the river, and Silverstein managed to win the pot.  He now sits will just under 500k.

Event 10: Color Up Break

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Players are going on a 10 minute color up break, and when we return there will be 80 players beginning Level 18 with blinds at 4k/8k/1k.  Right before the break we lost one of our earlier notables Lee Childs.

Event 10: Lots Of Clubs

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Andrew Interdonato (Washington DC)

We walked up to Table 8, with a board of 2s 2c Ac Jc 6h.  Andrew Interdonato (Washington DC) had declared himself all-in and his opponent immediately called and 3c 5c.  His opponent had turned the five high flush, but Andrew showed Kc Qc for the win.  It just so happened that a player was all-in prior to the river action who showed 6c 9c.  So a lot of flushes around the table, but only one that mattered.  Interdonato would scoop up the over 200k pot and now has his stack to just over 300k.

Event 10: Level 17

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Level has gone up and we are playing Level 17 with blinds of 3k/6k/500.  90 players remain (with 63 making the money), with the action stopping tonight at 2:00 am.  Players will bag their chips and return tomorrow to finish the tournament.

Event 11: Moving Along....Slowly But Surely

$300 + 40 Limit Hold'em

15 players remain (with 9 getting paid), and the action has seemed to enter "snail mode."  The players are in Level 15 with 1,500/3,000 blinds and the big bets at 3k/6k.  The current chip average among the players sits at 44,000.

Event 10: Chip Counts

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

We have 98 players remaining with an average stack of 157k, here are some chip counts from the field:

Sardor Gaziev - 170k
Mike Sica - 145k
Lee Childs - 70k
Alex Rocha - 210k
Joe Neiman - 610k
Felix Ly - 110k
Ylon Schwartz - 170k
James Edwards - 275k

Event 10: Level 16

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Ylon Schwartz mid-hand (Edwards on his immediate right with glasses)

110 players come back from break playing Level 16, with blinds at 2,500/5,000/500 and a chip average just under 140k.  On the last hand before the break we walked up to a raise (10,800), followed by a three-bet all-in by James Edwards (96,100).  The action was then on Ylon Schwartz who tanked for a few, and then declared himself all-in as well (he had Edwards covered).   James tabled A A and was up against the Q Q of Schwartz.  Even after the original raiser showed A J, Edwards managed to flop the case ace, and took down the pot worth over 200k.  Schwartz was left with just under 80k.

Event 10: Color Up Break

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Players are currently on a 15 minute break while the tournament directors color off the 100 demoniation black chips.

Event 9 Recap

$350 + $50 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha High (Re-Entry)

Charlie Morgenstern (Chesterfield, NJ) dominated the final table of the Pot Limit Omaha event, only surrendering the chip lead briefly near the end.  He claimed $15,381 and his first Borgata Poker Open trophy for the win.

Second place went to professional poker player Chun Chen, (Seattle, WA) good for $8,459.  Chen wrestled the chip lead from Morgenstern just before the dinner break when he flopped the nut flush.

After dinner, Morgenstern flopped a full house to double up through third-place finisher Bryce Fox (Pittsburgh, PA).  Fox was left with only 100k -- less than two big blinds -- but doubled up three times and climbed back to 1 million chips.   After getting Morgenstern all in with the worst of it, Morgenstern caught runner-runner to make two pair and double up -- again knocking Fox down to about 100k.  Fox busted out soon after, earning $4,870 for third place.

Pot Limit Omaha always brings out interesting players and this final table did not disappoint.  It featured one Canadian, Adrian Baran, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and one Brit, Jeffrey Duvall, from London, England.  Baran finished 4th for $4,101.  Duvall, who already has two Borgata Open trophies to his credit, finished 6th for $2,563.

Also at this final table was accomplished Borgata regular Yuebin Guo (Brooklyn, NY).  Guo, who has three Borgata Open titles, finished 5th for $3,076.  Well known poker pro Allen 'Chainsaw' Kessler (Las Vegas, NV) rounded out this final table, finishing 8th for $1,538.

Charlie Morgenstern played good Samaritan on his drive to Borgata, stopping to help a stranded motorist.  He then told his wife he was going to win and to "look for his picture with four cards and a trophy".  His son Jackson is anxious for him to get home, but we'll see him back for the main event next week.

Final Table Results
1 - Charlie Morgenstern (Chesterfield, NJ) - $15,381
2 - Chun Chen (Seattle, WA) - $8,459
3 -  Bryce Fox (Pittsburgh, PA) - $4,870

Ylon Schwartz
Jamie Kerstetter

Event 11: Level Update

$300 + 40 Limit Hold'em

Event 10: Lapping The Field

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Blinds are still 1500/3000 and the chip average still sits at 100k, so to be sitting on a stack over over 200 big blinds isn't too shabby!

Event 9: 1st Place - Morgenstern

$350 + $50 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha High (Re-Entry)

Charlie Morgenstern (Chesterfield, NJ)
$15,381

After flopping a full house on the final hand, Charlie Morgenstern got Chun Chen to put all his chips in drawing stone-cold dead.

He wanted his son Jackson to know that Daddy will be home soon, and he'll be bringing an extra $15,381 and a shiny new Borgata Poker Open trophy.

Charlie quit his job as a headhunter on Friday and is currently unemployed.  He's not considering going pro, but will be playing some more tournaments during this series -- like the Championship Event.

Event 9: 2nd Place - Chen

$350 + $50 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha High (Re-Entry)

Chun Chen
$8,459

On a flop of K Q Q rainbow, all the chips went into the pot.

Chun Chen: Q542 (trip Queens)
Charlie Morgenstern: KQ93 (Queens-full)

Chen was drawing dead.  The last two came 6 2, giving Chen a useless smaller full house on the river.

Charlie had him covered and Chen was busted.

The professional poker player will collect $8,459 for second place.

Event 10: "Little Man" Standing Taller

$350 + 50 Deep Stack No Limit Hold'em

Table 2 has some big guns after others broke, and it now homes Lee Childs, Sardor Gaziev, and Mike "Little Man" Sica.  We walked up to the table just as Sica was knocking out an opponent, building his stack to just above the chip average of 100k.  The blinds have just gone up to 1500/3000/400, and tables seem to be breaking left and right.

Event 9: Chen Doubles

$350 + $50 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha High (Re-Entry)

Chun Chen was all-in.

Chen:  AQQT
Charles Morgenstern: QJ77

The board came Q T 8 T 2 and Chen doubled up with a full boat.

After that pot, the final two were almost dead even with about 1.5 million each.

Blinds are up to 40k/80k.
