WPT BPO: End of Level Four

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

End of level 4 and time for a break.

Registration will close at the end of this break.

Last chance to get into this event.

WPT BPO: Into The Mind Of A Grindette

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Jamie Kerstetter (Monroe Township, NJ) is one of numerous Borgata regulars in the event today, and happens to be sitting at Table 18 with Lee Childs (Alexandria, VA).  Jamie has made a habit of cashing at each of our Borgata Poker Opens, and the past few weeks have been no different.  Jamie was nice enough to sit down with me during dinner break of Event 1 ($560 Deep Stack NLH $1Million Dollar Guarantee), and discuss poker life.

WPT BPO: The End Is Near (Of Late Reg. And Re-Entry)

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

There is currently nineteen minutes remaining in Level 4, which means that there will be a fifteen minute break at the level's conclusion.  Once that break is over, the tournament registration will be over for this event and we will know the numbers in regard to the field and payouts.

WPT BPO: Out and In Again

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Mike Linster was "playing aggressively, trying to chip up" early, but busted out and has re-entered.

He landed at table 25 with

Andy Frankenberger
Eric Doerr
David 'the Dragon' Pham
Terry Grimes

Christian Harder has also busted out and re-entered.  He landed at table 31 with Barry Shulman and  Mickey Woll.  (Barry Shulman has since busted out -- not sure if he will re-enter).

WPT BPO: More Late Faces

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Whether late registration or hiding out, here are a few more names we missed earlier:

Will Failla
Kyle Burnside
Eric Doerr

WPT BPO: Late Arrivals?

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

David Inselberg has arrived and taken his seat at table 11 with Cliff 'Johnnybax' Josephy.

Table 22 has filled in with a tough crowd.  In addition to Allyn Jaffrey Shulman, are these Borgata regulars:

Patricia Barsanti-Chou
Fran Cipriano
John Lakatosh

At table 23, Ari Albilia has arrived and joined Walt English and Christine Brewer.

WPT BPO: A Family Affair

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Poker runs in the Shulman family's blood.

Allyn shows off her bracelet

Allyn Jaffrey Shulman (Las Vegas, NV) won the WSOP Seniors event this summer along with over $603,000.

Barry Shulman

Her husband Barry Shulman, owner of Card Player magazine, is also here today.  He has over $4.4 million in lifetime earnings, including a WSOP-Europe main event win and a WSOP bracelet won playing Stud H/L in 2001.

WPT BPO: Yarlapati Out/In

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Maruti Yarlapati (Parsippany, NJ) paired his Ace on the turn and got all-in against a player he thought was bluffing.

Unfortunately for Maruti, his opponent had flopped a flush.

Maruti busted out and has re-enterd for another try.  He finished in 18th place in the $1k Purple Chip Bounty tournament a few days ago ($2,406).

WPT BPO: Level 3 Begins

$3,300 + 200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Players just returned from their first break of the day, and they return to Level 3.  The blinds are up to 75/150, and players have through the end of Level 4 (and break thereafter) to re-enter.

WPT BPO: Un-Familiar Faces

$3300 + $200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

If you weren't sure that Borgata runs the best tournaments on the east coast, just ask these folks.

They aren't Borgata regulars, but they are here for the best tournament value anywhere.

Robert 'RCW' Cheung

Robert 'RCW' Cheung (Vancouver, BC) is a west-coast kind of guy, but he's here today checking out this superior Borgata tournament.

Robert won his WSOP bracelet in 2007, good for over $638,000.

David Levi

David Levi (Las Vegas, NV) is another player from out west that has come to Borgata.

He's got over $2.7 million lifetime tournament earnings with one WPT final table to his credit.

WPT BPO: Fouksman Firing Bullet #3

$3300 + $200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Eugene Fouksman (Manalapan, NJ) played day 1A, but busted out.

He registered again today on day 1B and has now busted out again.

On a flop of K T 5, he was all-in holding KT (two pair) against Mike 'Mad Dog' Shasho, who had pocket Aces.

Then another 5 hit the turn, giving Mad Dog Aces-up and the pot.

Eugene has re-entered, firing his third bullet.  Hopefully the third time is the charm!

WPT BPO: More Faces in the Crowd

$3300 + $200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

More familiar faces, some of which are only occasional Borgata players, and some who are making their first appearance here:

Allyn Jaffrey Shulman
John Hinds - winner of $350 NL event
Victor Ramdin
Brian Lemke
Frank Cieri
Gavin Smith
Jesse Sylvia
Jeremy Brown
David 'the Dragon' Pham
Sirous Jamshidi

WPT BPO: WPT vs. WSOP POYs

$3300 + $200 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship NLH

Back on table 37 are a couple of faces we don't see on a regular basis here at Borgata.

Jonathan Little and Jeff Madsen are seated there, with one currently empty seat between them waiting to be filled.

Jonathan Litte & Jeff Madsen

Jonathan has two WPT titles, four final tables, and almost $3.6 million in career earnings, just on the WPT.  He was Season VI WPT Player of the Year....but no WSOP bracelet yet.

Jeff Madsen has two WSOP bracelets and was WSOP player of the year in 2006.  He won the 2010 Borgata Winter Open Championship event ($625,006) but his best finish on the WPT was 6th place at the WPT Legends of Poker last month ($75,400).  His lifetime earnings are about $3.5 million, but still no WPT title.

Playing day 1B today is Julie Anna Cornelius (recently relocated to the Atlanta, GA area).  'Jules' as she's known to her friends, won a contest for entry into the Inside The Minds class held here at Borgata the day before the Borgata Poker Open series began.

Jules Cornelius

She changed her travel plans to arrive a day early and attended the class, led by professional poker players Lee Childs and Jason Young.

Since then, she cashed in a Survivor tournament and won last Wednesday's 7pm Black Chip Bounty tournament, cashing for over $8,000 in one week.

She's hoping to parlay her new knowledge and her winnings into a much bigger payday in this event.

This morning she Tweeeted to her followers:
